Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr is gearing up for another exhibition fight this February and making his in-ring debut in the United Kingdom. The former five-division champion will face former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers after his initial opponent and One Championship fighter Liam Harrison fell out due to injury. Chalmers will now take his place and get a chance to box with one of the greatest to ever do it.

However, Chalmers isn’t facing Mayweather in a playful exhibition but rather a heated competition. The former reality show star who made his boxing debut last year is more than confident he can outbox ‘Money’ and even hurt the 45-year-old. In addition, he was far from humble coming out and made his ‘bad intentions’ crystal clear.

In a recent video uploaded by Fight Hype, Chalmers came out guns blazing as he made some bold claims about his MMA skills. According to him, he dropped every opponent he hit on the chin. He then rubbed salt in the wounds of Mayweather claiming that Deji, who ‘Money’ fought in his last exhibition was able to give him a black eye despite having far less boxing experience. Moreover, he then asked the fans what he could do to ‘TBE’ if Deji managed to hurt him.

I’ve been thinking every MMA fight I had, when I touched someone’s chin they went down. Deji gave Floyd a black eye. I think he jabbed them and he caught him and gave him a black eye. Deji plays video games for a living. So if that’s what Deji did to him, imagine what I’m gonna do to him,” he said.

Chalmers is certainly confident that he can inflict damage on Mayweather. While he has time on his side being the far younger and stronger opponent, he does not have experience. Mayweather is one of the most crafty boxers in the world even today. This was proved after he demolished a YouTuber in a friendly sparring session recently. However, if Chalmers pressures ‘Money’ into a corner he has a chance to land some heavy shots but he will have to work for it.

Chalmers transitioned into MMA after quitting Geordie Shore back in 2017. Following this, he would compete in 7 MMA fights and have 5 victories as well. He then picked up boxing last year beating Alexander Zeledon who had six wins in his last 50 fights. He has not competed in the boxing ring since then and looks to get his career on track with the Mayweather fight.

While it could be argued that Chalmers has had a decent run in MMA, the same cannot be said for his boxing career. With only one fight under his belt, he is getting the opportunity of a lifetime in facing ‘TBE’ where he can showcase his skills before audiences he will never see in his lifetime.
