Creed III, from the spin-off series of the Rocky franchise, was set to hit the theaters on November 23 of 2022. Recently, it was even disclosed that actor Jonathan Majors is to be seen against actor Michael B. Jordan in this third Creed film. Although it is yet to be made official, there are theories that claim the return of the ruthless and mean Mr. T and his son in the upcoming Creed III.
Mr. T made his appearance in the Rocky franchise with the introduction of Clubber Lang in Rocky III (1982). In Creed II (2018), fans witnessed the homecoming of Ivan Drago and the introduction of his son Victor, who fought Adonis Creed. In 2017, Sylvester Stallone took to Instagram. He shared his encounter with Joe Frazier, whom he thought about casting in Rocky III. Of course, the role soon went to Mr. T. However, here is what Rocky Balboa had in plan.
Sylvester Stallone wanted to cast Joe Frazier as Clubber Lang before Mr. T
The inauguration of the character Clubber Lang in Rocky brought Balboa closer to Creed. Thanks to Rocky’s first loss to Lang that Apollo trained Rocky, and we witnessed the chemistry between Carl Weathers and Sylvester Stallone on the silver screen. However, before Mr. T, Stallone thought about “pushing the envelope” by casting a real fighter in the film.

It was none other than Joe Frazier, whom Stallone had in mind. Frazier was excited to play the role too and had even shown up “cheerfully” to the gym. But according to Stallone, this was a bad idea that was soon revealed. For him to walk inside the ring with Frazier was equivalent to “going into a lion’s cage covered in steak sauce and asking “how do you think I will taste?”
After a few seconds with Frazier, Stallone realized it was a “homicidal concept” within him. Following the encounter with Frazier, Stallone changed his mind and casted Mr. T.
