The boxing universe regards Claressa Shields as one of the most prominent female boxers of all time. With her daunting approach towards her opponents, Shields has retained her undefeated boxing run and has claimed multiple titles in the middleweight and super-welterweight division. Hence, to challenge herself, ‘T-Rex’ is all set to transition to MMA and carry on her momentum there.
She even signed with the PFL (Professional Fighters League) and is all set to make her MMA debut on June 10 against Brittney Elkin. Fans and fighters around the globe are excited to see her perform and give it her best shot. However, there’s one stout female pugilist who hopes that MMA doesn’t go well for ‘T-Rex’.
In a fresh chat with Boxing Social, Savannah Marshall unveiled her take on why she doesn’t want Shields to excel in the cage. She said, “To be honest, I don’t blame her. I really couldn’t follow her, I think she’s done everything she set out to do in the pros.”

“I hope it (MMA) works out for her. But then a little bit of me hopes it doesn’t so she can come back to boxing,” Marshall added.
In her last fight, the lanky Marshall finished Maria Lindberg to defend her titles for the very first time. Moving ahead, the only fight the Brit boxer wants next is a sheer tussle against ‘T-Rex’ with all the middleweight titles on the line.
But for that fight to take place, the 29-year-old wants Claressa Shields to shift her focus back to boxing if she doesn’t do well in the PFL.
