Dillian Whyte, who in his last fight secured a win via a majority decision over Jermaine Franklin, out of frustration, has branded the latter’s upcoming fight on April 1st with former heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua as the “battle of fools” in boxing. While Whyte cited the earlier promise of the winner of Whyte vs. Franklin facing Joshua in the ring, he also ridiculed DAZN’s strategy. In addition, Whyte, who is now of the view that he was better off losing the Franklin fight, branded the latter as a “low-profile American” while labeling himself as a “massive British tear-up” in boxing.

In his recent interaction with SunSport, ‘The Bodysnatcher’ went to the extent of saying, “It’s protecting AJ because they all know if he loses again he will probably jack it in and a lot of people will be left with limp d***s in their hands.” In addition, the British boxer reminded how “Everyone was told, all the boxing fans, the winner of me and Franklin fights AJ, so this is a f***ed up thing.” “I would have been better off losing the Franklin fight and getting the AJ fight!” he added.

Even though Whyte acknowledged DAZN’s need for content to gain subscribers, for the same reason, he wondered about its decision to have ‘AJ’ against Franklin. In addition, he commented on promoter Eddie Hearn promising Franklin millions to fight ‘AJ’ if only he beat him. Thus expressing contempt for DAZN’s strategy, Whyte endorsed Joshua vs. Whyte instead of Joshua vs. Franklin. “I know DAZN need content for their subscribers but why choose to fight a low-profile American coming off a loss instead of having a massive British tear-up?” said Whyte.

“It’s no surprise to me that they have chosen April 1 for this battle of the fools,” added Whyte. In his opinion, ‘The Bodysnatcher’ defeated “the most dangerous and undefeated version” of Franklin. Therefore, if there was a boxer that was most worthy of facing Joshua in the ring, then it was Whyte and not the 29-year-old American who is gearing up for the 1st of April.
