It is safe to say that Tony Hawk is the greatest and most influential skateboarder ever. Not only did ‘The Birdman’ dominate the sport for a better part of two decades, he even made a greater impact through his influence as a public figure and celebrity.

Hawk has his own line of skateboarding games and has also been influencing stars to pick up the sport. Thus, it was no surprise when Sebastian Joseph-Day praised the skateboarding legend on Mike Tyson’s podcast. He stated that Hawk was influential because he got the like of rapper Lil Wayne to skateboard. “I mean you know you’re influential you got people like Lil Wayne skateboarding.” said Day.

Following this, Hawk went on to defend Wayne, who initially came under criticism when he started skateboarding. Hawk claimed that although many people think that he jumped on a ‘bandwagon’, he was still a very good skater. “I mean you know what a lot of people gave him grief because they thought he was just jumping on the bandwagon or whatever but he has been skating for the last at least 10 years.” said Hawk

Tyson also added that he was competing for a long time. “I think he has the whole complex yeah doesn’t he have the complex games, yeah” said Tyson

This was not all as Hawk revealed that he was giving lessons to another musician. He stated that he was giving ‘Kid Cudi’ lessons, who even built a whole ramp to learn the craft.”You know I’ve been given lessons to recently is Kid Cudi. He just built a ramp at his house like he literally they finished it yesterday. He sent me photos of it is it pretty solid is it pretty good solid yeah.” said Hawk.

Hawk certainly has been the most influential skateboarder ever, with the likes of Wayne and Kudi jumping on the sport because of him.
