Undefeated lightweight star Rolly Romero has just earned his shot at the boxing gold and will face Gervonta Davis on December 5 in what can be a career-defining phase for him. However, it may be in jeopardy as he is in some serious trouble after the recent allegations on social media.
The WBA Interim lightweight champion has accepted none of those charges against him, but the matter seems to be turning serious. Per reports, one of his alleged victims even claimed to have filed a police complaint against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero.
This clearly doesn’t sit well for the nearing Davis vs Romero lightweight title clash. Showtime Sports President Stephen Espinoza has also given views on the scenario.

In a chat with Behind The Gloves, he said, “We are just surprised as everybody else. It’s a lot of disturbing stuff, a lot of concerning allegations. We are looking at it very closely. We don’t want to rush into the decision before we know all the facts. So, we are monitoring it. And we don’t have a decision to offer to the comment at this time. But we are definitely keeping an eye on it, as it develops.”
The lightweight title bout is still on. Two undefeated boxers- Romero and Davis will collide in a 12-round headliner for the WBA 135 lbs belt, which is currently held by ‘Tank’ Davis. However, as the situation with Romero is developing, anything can happen.
