The torchbearer of American heavyweight boxing in the current generation, Deontay Wilder, has begun training for the quest for a title shot. His pictures from the gym along with his trainer are circulating on the Internet and captivating fans’ attention for drastic body transformation.
Michael Benson of talk sport shared two pictures of ‘The Bronze Bomber’ on Twitter. One from back in 2021, when Wilder gained weight to match 6foot 9-inch tall heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and the second from his recent training camp.

Both pictures depict a huge difference in Wilder’s body weight.
After losing the highly anticipated trilogy bout against ‘The Gypsy King‘, The Olympic bronze medalist had decided to retire. But a long layoff made him realize that he still has enough left to offer.
As of now, the 36-year-old knockout machine has decided to kick start his career again with a new mindset. In the process, he cut a decent weight to gain his speed and rhythm, which was lacking when he fought Fury in October 2021.

Interestingly, fans appreciated the former champ’s move.
Fans pushed Deontay Wilder to remain in his natural body shape
A fan wrote, “He gained weight to try and deal with Furys size. Didn’t work so he is going back to 15/16stone. Makes sense.”

Another fan highlighted that Wilder produced a competitive exchange in his first fight because his body weight was less.
The closest he came to beating Fury was in the first fight where he weighed the least. He couldn't carry the extra weight

Another fan wrote that the weight Wilder put on for Fury was not his natural weight.
He put that weight on for Fury. It’s not his natural weight

Bulking up certainly did not help Wilder against Fury. Moreover, it had an adverse effect on him in the ring.
Bulking up in weight caused Wilder to have stamina issues, he’s not going in the ring fighting a 300lbs monster like Fury anymore, so why not come in leaner, get faster and STILL have all that power!👊🏾

He’d need to drop another 20lb or so plus there’s not much money in the Cruiserweight division compared to what he can make at heavyweight

Another fan claimed that Wilder was best when he was at 213lbs.
Bro lost a lot of muscle better for him he was at his best when he stayed around 213

According to another fan, Wilder was at his best against Ortiz.
I feel like his best was Ortiz II around 222

With those breadstick legs not sure

Another fan wrote, “Does he not know that pumping your body full of juice affects your body’s aerobic performance? Wonder if that’s why he gassed out against fury. Hopefully learnt his lesson.”
