Frank Warren accuses Mike Tyson
In an interview with The Guardian, Warren accused Tyson of being a ‘manipulative bully’. He also questioned Tyson’s boxing skills stating, he couldn’t beat the fighters that he couldn’t intimidate.
“He is a terrible manipulative bully. Every fighter that’s beaten him, he couldn’t intimidate. Everyone who he’s beaten, he could intimidate. If he can’t intimidate you, that’s a killer for him,” Warren said.
Moreover, he went on a rant about Tyson and claimed that although it might seem like he was misunderstood, but was a ‘thug’ in real life. Warren further added, “He is a compelling character, and he’s one of those fellas who gets you to feel that he’s misunderstood but, when you get into it, he is what he is, which is a thug and a bully and a misogynist. He’s very homophobic when he’s cursing somebody or he’s shouting at them.”
Warren also stated that Tyson was a great fighter but for a short time and was not a great role model.
“He was an unbelievably exciting fighter, menacing, devastating, but that lasted a very short time, and then he just p*ssed his career away. He didn’t live the life he should have led. You could sit with him right now and you’d think this guy’s totally been misunderstood, he’s a good bloke. I’m telling you, he’s very manipulative,” he concluded.
Warren promoted a couple of Iron Mike’s fights back when he fought in the U.K. However, It looks like there might still be some bad blood between the two. Tyson also once punched Warren in 2000 before his fight against Julius Francis.
