Although he doesn’t really need to put his life at stake any longer, the four-division titlist seems energized about his potential resurrection.
Well, ‘The Golden Boy’ has always been more than just an in-ring menace. From setting fitness goals to flaunting his larger-than-life personality, De La Hoya has always been an eye-candy to non-boxing fans. He continues to reflect the same energy, even to this day.

Oscar De La Hoya celebrated his 49 birthday with his girlfriend, Holly Sonders, and sent several fans into a frenzy. His partner posted multiple pictures of the boxer with his birthday cake. Interestingly, the couple grabbed most of the attention due to their unique fashion sense.

De La Hoya also posted an image on his social media, wishing himself a happy birthday. That said, the celebration time may be over soon as the year 2022 can be extremely demanding for Oscar De La Hoya. Apart from his own in-ring goals, he has to work effectively as a promoter.

Per reports, Oscar De La Hoya is willing to rematch former nemesis, Floyd Mayweather. His prime goal seems to be bagging a lucrative payday. But Mayweather has shown no interest in it. Therefore, De La Hoya may have to focus solely on his promotional stunts.

De La Hoya’s former prizefighter Canelo Alvarez doesn’t appear interested in re-joining forces with ‘The Golden Boy’ promotions. Although Oscar De La Hoya still wants him back, the same may not happen soon. It verifies former WBC lightweight champion, Ryan Garcia, as the biggest name in De La Hoya’s stable.
Unfortunately, Garcia has been out of action for over a year and still doesn’t have an official fight onboard. Thus, it complicates De La Hoya’s position as a promoter who needs to finalize a worthy opponent for ‘KingRy’.
