33 Years Later, Muhammad Ali’s Humble Act Makes Mike Tyson Break Down in Denial: ‘I Can’t Figure It Out, Motherf*ck*r!’

Boxing fans are well aware of Mike Tyson’s deep admiration for Muhammad Ali, popularly known as ‘The People’s Champion’. Tyson has frequently been open about his admiration and regard for Ali in interviews and podcasts. On a recent episode of Tyson’s podcast, the guest brought up an incident between Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, and Tyson’s eyes immediately began to flood with tears.

A recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson featured American rapper Cordae. As the episode progressed, Cordae recalled an interview when Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali appeared on a TV show. The rapper said, “It was like some talk show and you were like, still even to this day I like it, you were in the middle of your prime, it’s safe to assume. And they was like, who would win between you two and you was like ‘man every head must bow, every tongue must profess, this man is the greatest of all time.”

Cordae was referencing the time Tyson, Ali, and Sugar Ray Leonard appeared on an episode of the Arsenio Hall show. When asked who they felt would win a fight, Ali and Tyson both took each other’s names out of respect and humility.

After the rapper mentioned this incident, a teary-eyed Tyson stated, “Ali is a bad motherf**ker… How can you see a motherf**ker and the motherf**ker inspires you like this. Don’t even touch you, don’t even say a fucking word to you. Fu*k Man! To this day, I can’t figure it out, Motherf**ker!”
