Shaquille O’Neal reveals he owns rights to Muhammad Ali, Marylin Monroe, and other celebrities
In an interview, Shaq revealed that he owned the rights to the royalties of celebrities like Marylin Monroe and Elvis Presley. “I don’t like to seem like I’m bragging, but I’m gonna ask you a question. Who owns Marilyn Monroe? Who owns Elvis Presley? Me!” he said.
O’Neal then revealed that he sold his rights to three companies and got huge amounts for it. However, he would take half of the money he earned and put it back into the company.
“When I was retiring I called the three companies that helped people live forever and they bought my brand for a lot of money. So I took half that money and put it back in the company. Now I’m the number two guy in the company, now I own all those other brands. So if Shaq goes away we still got Elvis,” he added.
The company that owns his rights is the Authentic Brands Group which also owns the rights to boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Moreover, it was revealed that he spent around $135 million on this deal.

O’Neal is currently one of the richest basketball players in the world even after returning from the sport. The 4-time NBA champion has a net worth of $400 million which could be attributed mainly to the success of his multiple business ventures. Moreover, he has also earned over $250 million as salary during his time in the NBA
It is reported that Big Diesel earns over $60 million a year as a return on his multiple investments. In addition, this is more than what he used to earn during his time as a player which only showcases his business acumen.
