Teofimo Lopez, the current unified lightweight champion of the world, is in his Kobe year. Lopez is currently training for his highly awaited November 27 clash against George Kambosos Jr. During an open media workout, Lopez spoke about his Jordan year and Kobe year, thanking them for paving the way.
FightHype.com was on the scene at the City Athletic Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Teofimo Lopez hosted a media workout. ‘The Takeover’ spoke about not being able to fight for a year and how he is ready to make a comeback on the big stage.

“They don’t wanna see greatness happen at this age, 24. I did it at 23. That was my Jordan year. I’m 24, this is my Kobe year. That mamba mentality, I’m telling you man and I thank those guys they all paved the way. And I’m just tryna pave the way for everybody out there,” said Lopez.

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are two of the biggest superstars in the game’s history. The pair were good friends even off the court and Bryant credits all that he has learned to Michael Jordan, for mentoring him and teaching him his tricks.

Teofimo Lopez trades body shots with ‘The Mountain’
Body shot challenges are a very fun and comparatively less harmful way for boxers to test their strength and resistance. The trend of trading body shots with famous celebrities and athletes took over the internet in recent times. Ryan ‘KingRy’ Garcia is the one that made the whole trend popular.

During an intense training session at the gym, Teofimo ‘The Takeover’ Lopez took on Hafthor Bjornsson, AKA ‘The Mountain,’ in a body shot challenge.
The former strongman did not hold back as he swung with all his force against Lopez, who is less than half his size and weight.

Lopez surprisingly took all the shots and even gave back some of his own, showcasing his power and resistance.
