There have been widespread speculations that former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is on a quest to find a new opponent. While many prominent names have been thrown into the muddle, MMA superstar Bob Sapp has reasons to believe that he might not be in the mix. The duo has had one of the most iconic crossover beefs over the years. In fact, Sapp believes that ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ might just be a little too scared to fight him.

‘The Beast’ was in an interview ‘MMAnytt‘. In conversation, he spoke about staying in fighting shape to fight Tyson. He also said, “We first got involved in 2003 in Las Vegas, Bob Sapp said about his history with Mike Tyson. There was some pushing and shoving when I met him at the Bellagio. I am responsible for bringing him out of retirement.”
Moreover, he even claimed that it was impossible to be a Tyson fan without being a Sapp fan as well.
Apparently, Tyson was initially supposed to fight Sapp for his boxing return bout in 2020. However, the fight did not materialize it could not be conducted in Japan.
Bob Sapp believes Mike Tyson chickened out
Bob Sapp strongly believes that Mike Tyson found ways to avoid fighting him. In fact, Sapp even claimed that he will be releasing evidence of Tyson and his management running away from the bout.

Talking about their canceled bout, Sapp was sure that Tyson was scared to fight him. He said, “They decided to draw up some scheme in which they decided to circumvent me because [Tyson] is very scared to fight me.”
Meanwhile, he also stated that his inclusion significantly increased the PPV prices. However, he blamed Tyson’s brother-in-law cum manager, Azeem Spicer for the cancellation. Moreover, he believes Spicer wanted to keep the money for himself. Additionally, he also blames Tyson for chickening out of the bout.
Sapp also throws Shaquille O’Neal under the bus
Sapp believes Tyson fears him because of his size. He also mentioned that he understands Tyson’s emotions, as many other athletes are also scared of him.

Sapp even listed NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal as one of the people who called him out. Moreover, he also named Hafpor Bjornsson and Evander Holyfield as the other pros who called him out. Additionally, he claimed that all of them, Shaq included, were scared to face him in the ring.
However, he added he is unsure about what Holyfield said, stating that he mumbles due to a constant alcoholic stupor. Meanwhile, Sapp also mentioned that he wishes to settle scores with Tyson.
