Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant has been the center of attention in the sports world over the past few weeks. The young NBA star was recently seen holding a gun in a social media clip which has led to his suspension. Moreover, clips of him walking around with a gun in a nightclub have also made rounds on the internet.

According to the New York Times, Morant has come out and taken full responsibility for his actions and has apologized for letting people down. Undisputed female Super Middleweight champion Claressa Shields was shocked after witnessing the point guard’s video online. She also expressed her dissatisfaction online as she posted about this incident.

“Jesus Christ, just saw the video of Ja Morant,” she wrote. This was not all as the fans also reacted to Shields’ Tweet and shared their thoughts on Morant’s recent controversies.

A user named @DurtCobain91 stated that this was not one of Morant’s best moments.

Another user named @BodiiAnti fired back at Shields, taking shots at her latest fight.

However, a user named @K1n6J stated that Morant has a right to bear arms and was just merely expressing his right.

A user named @WHOISS2 wondered what video Shields was talking about as most of them have been removed from social media.

 

Moreover, a user named Darrly Spence Jr suggested that people need to have guns to live in Memphis and wanted traders to leave them alone. Lastly, a fan named @BillyBurnett claimed that poor people were always real. Moreover, he added that as people get richer they get more fake which might have been the case with Morant’s actions.

The fans were divided over Morant’s recent controversy. While some think that he was within his right to bear arms, others felt that he should be held to a higher standard being a notable basketball player. However, Shields was shocked at the video and expressed her disappointment. Notably, the NBA’s collective bargaining states that players cannot carry arms in team facilities and when traveling on league business. Moreover, with Morant recently being involved with other altercations over the last year this could potentially affect his professional career in the long run.
