The ‘GOAT’ debate is the most complex query in any sport, and it becomes even more chaotic when it comes to basketball where several top athletes are of the same stature as Lebron James and Michael Jordan. Ethically, it’s wrong to compare both basketball dynamos because comparison limits their distinct talent. It secludes them within a chart where levels are made. However, even then, these questions are very prevalent because fans are curious to know. Love and hate-relationship push these debates further.
Basically, the ‘GOAT’ debate is highly opinionated. For some, ‘King’ James is the biggest figure who ever walked the basketball court. For others who witnessed the unearthly charisma of Jordan in the 90s, believe he is the best ever. But ‘The Best Ever’ of Boxing’s take has brought this debate on the plane again. Though it is never out of fashion, as of now, it is getting more attention.
Recently, former five-weight division champ Floyd Mayweather Jr, who is a big basketball enthusiast tried to end the ‘GOAT’ debate between James and Jordan. He said, “I love Lebron. But one thing about Michael Jordan, he is going to come out there every night to kill you.” A page named NBA Daily shared it on Facebook.
