Shaquille O’Neal was talking in his show ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq‘ along with co-hosts, Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams.
In conversation, Adams asked him if he had seen Spence’s fight with Ugas. Shaq mentioned he hadn’t seen the fight, as he was sure of Spence’s victory.
Thereafter, Adams talked about the possible fight between Spence and Crawford. He said, “So now he called out Bud Crawford, Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford. Both of these guys are undefeated, they’ve got multiple belts. Like this is THE fight.”
In response, Shaq said, “Do it in July, August or September, so that I can go.”
He further offered to take both Adams and Turner to the fight. He said, “Like I’ll tell you what. If it happens in September I’ll pay for both of your tickets.”
The boxing match that Shaquille O’Neal wants
Spence faced Yordenis Ugas at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 16.
Spence treated Ugas to a merciless barrage of punches. By the tenth round, Ugas’ right eye was completely shut. The referee Laurence Cole stopped the fight so as to have the ringside physician examine Ugas’ eye. The physician did not allow Ugas to continue leading to Spence’s victory by TKO.
After this victory, Spence retained his WBC and IBF welterweight titles. He also won the WBA (Super) welterweight title.
In the post-fight interview, Spence was asked about what the future holds for him. He responded, by saying, “What’s next? Everybody knows who I want next. I want Terence Crawford next.”
Talking about a four-belt unification, he further added, “That’s the fight that I want. That’s the fight everybody else wants. Like I said, I’ll take these straps there. And take his s*** too.”
