Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has become synonymous with money. The former 5-division champ is currently the richest boxer in the world despite retiring from the sport back in 2017. However, his wealth can mainly be attributed to his sound financial investments in various sectors.

In an interview back in 2020, Mayweather revealed his investment in a multi-billion dollar project. He stated that he was doing very well financially and making investments in various sectors, including real estate and tech. “I’m well off every property that I have is paid for. My jet is paid for, all my cars are paid for, and I own billion dollars, billion-dollar buildings. I own so much property and I’m steady investing in different things. I’m invested in the tech world, I made a lot of smart investments,” he said.

Moreover, it seems like 4-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal is also following Mayweather’s footsteps as he too has invested a bunch of his $400 million net worth. It was reported that O’Neal is a joint owner of 155 Five Guys Burgers restaurants, 17 Auntie Annie’s Pretzels restaurants, 150 car washes, 40 24-hour fitness centers. Along with this, he also owns a shopping center, a movie theater, and several Las Vegas nightclubs.

However, this pales in comparison to Mayweather’s investments, which according to him are worth billions of dollars. It looks like Money does have the upper hand on The Diesel with this investment as he continues to grow his generational wealth.

Floyd Mayweather rules out exhibition match against Manny Pacquiao

Mayweather recently proved that he still has some fight left in him after his victory over Mikuru Asakura in Japan. His former rival Manny Pacquiao was also present in the arena during this bout. This naturally raised questions about whether Money would be interested in a rematch with the Filipino legend. However, he revealed that he was not looking for a rematch and was only interested in fighting YouTubers or MMA fighters at this stage of his career.

“I’m not going to go in there with no former fighters, former world champions, putting more abuse on my body. I retired for a reason. I’m here to have fun and enjoy myself, sometimes three rounds, sometimes eight rounds, with guys that are going to help me entertain people.” He said.

This seems like a smart move by the former 5-division champ as he is 45 years old. Moreover, he is way past his prime and looks to compete in bouts that won’t physically injure him.
