Floyd Mayweather is in total support of Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving in the wake of a major controversy surrounding the NBA world. Despite the administrators mandating the vaccination protocols, ‘Mr. Overtime’ avoided it and showed no interest in following the same in the future.

As a result, he wasn’t allowed to compete in the home games. While the scenario became even more complex, Nets’ officials walked on without Kyrie Irving this season.

This has resulted in widespread reactions from the sporting communities. Being an ardent NBA fan, Floyd Mayweather also chimed in. He explained why the NBA star has nothing to worry about and also recalled his interactions with Kyrie Irving via social media.

Mayweather said, “America is the land of the free. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and supposedly freedom to choose. Never be controlled by money. I respect you for having some integrity and being your own man. A free mind makes his own choices and an enslaved mind, follows the crowd. Stand for something or fall for anything.”

“One man can lead a revolution to stand up and fight for what’s right. One choice, one word, once action can change the world. It’s crazy how people hate you for being a leader. I hope your actions encourage many others to stand up and say enough is enough. Respect to you Kyrie and power to the people.”

Kyrie Irving is choosing what’s best for him

While Mayweather appeared to justify Irving’s current stance, the NBA star had done the same weeks back. He went live on Instagram and answered several questions. Most of them were regarding his recent relationship with Brooklyn Nets officials. Following the major controversy, several people have envisioned Irving retiring.

But the Brooklyn superstar has no such intentions. He claimed that he wanted to play this season and didn’t want to get a pay cut for missing the showdowns. However, he also claimed that going for the vaccination wasn’t on his plans.

“Once again, I’m going to repeat this. This is not about the Nets, this is not about the organization, it’s not about the NBA, it’s not politics. It’s not any one thing.”

There have been several debates already over the whole scene. Irving, however, doesn’t seem to be changing any of his scheduled plans.
