Five-division boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather had his eyes on the recently concluded UFC 257, as one of his former foes- Conor McGregor was headlining the event. However, it was another fight that caught his attention.
Makhmud Muradov was also fighting in the main-card and being a client of ‘The Money Team’, the Russian had Mayweather’s support on his back. That said, Muradov continued his undefeated UFC run by knocking out Andrew Sanchez in the third round. It was a spectacular victory for him that saw him go 3-0 in UFC and 25-6 in MMA.
After the fight, Mayweather turned to social media and congratulated ‘Mach’. He posted a picture of the fighter getting his arm raised and wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS.”

Floyd Mayweather and Makhmud Muradov- An unparallel bond
Apart from being an elite boxer, Floyd Mayweather is also a reputed promoter who shares a great relationship with his clients and fighters. Muradov revealed he was close to Mayweather even before he was successful. Ahead of the fight, Muradov connected with MMA Junkie to shed light on his last interaction with Mayweather and how they have always been close to each other.
“He called me on FaceTime, ‘Hey, brother, keep working.’ I have a good connection with Floyd. I thank him because it helped me, support me every time. He told me about business plans and sport plans – 10 years before coming to Czech, I don’t have nothing. Now I have Floyd Mayweather as a friend, sometimes he calls me, sends messages, it’s life. You don’t know what’s waiting for you tomorrow,” said Muradov.

Meanwhile, Muradov will now try to enter into the top 15 of the current middleweight roster. Despite his achievements at 185 lbs, ‘Mach’ has a long way to go as the middleweight unit, is one of the deepest in the UFC with several elites on the ride. So, a 3-0 run might not be very beneficial unless Muradov gets a crack at the top-gunners of the division.
