Jake Paul weighs in on Fury vs. Ngannou
The 26-year-old has immersed himself in the sport. However, he is not only associated with the sport in the capacity of a boxer but also as a promoter. Safe to say, that the CEO of, ‘Most Valuable Promotions’ understands the business of the fight business. Moreover, he has been a big advocate for fighter pay. One reason why Ngannou is facing Fury is to get backend money for the fight and make a substantial profit.
According to Paul, this sets a precedent for other fighters to make bold moves in their careers. Reflecting on the same, on the full-send podcast, he stated, “I think it is great for Francis to show other fighters a road map to becoming their own wealthy, multi-business mogul and leaving the UFC wherein he was taken advantage of. Only getting like 600k for fights when he’s the heavyweight champion of the world.”
He adds, “He is now gonna go make, 10s of millions of dollars. I think that is the new model where fighters should take advantage of building their own brand.” Whether one likes Paul or not, it would be hard not to praise him for standing his ground and voicing his opinion about fighter pay. Moreover, this has not been the only instance in which the YouTuber-turned-boxer praised Ngannou.
