Claressa Shields, boxing’s GWOAT, steps into the MMA octagon once again. Her record? One win, one loss. Not her usual dominance, like in boxing. She is set to face Kelsey DeSantis come February 24 at the PFL vs. Bellator mega event in Saudi Arabia. However, Shields’ MMA journey is about more than just fights.

It’s a dive into humility, she claims. But her training partners? All men. Tough, experienced ones. Shields sees this as a path to growth, guided by something greater. Is MMA reshaping her? Or is it revealing a humility long embedded in her spirit?

In a revealing interview with Fight Hub TV, Claressa Shields, the boxing GWOAT turned MMA hopeful, shared insights into her challenging transition between sports. The conversation veered towards the theme of humility, prompted by the interviewer’s question on the subject. “Would you say it’s been like a humbling experience for you?” asked the interviewer.

Shields’ response shed light on her unique training situation and her perspective on humility. “You’d be in shock but there is no ladies, it’s all guys. Tough guys and experienced,” she disclosed, emphasizing the rigorous and male-dominated environment she’s immersed herself in for MMA training.

Moreover, Shields eloquently connected her sense of humility to a higher power rather than societal or personal recognition. “I hope that with me going to MMA that people will finally realize that I’ve always been humble. I don’t really care about being humble to man to human, I care about being humble to God. All my accomplishments I’ve always said, God is the reason for them. God help me get here. I give him praise after every fight, she stated.

Through this declaration, Shields makes it clear that her achievements and her journey are deeply rooted in her faith. But has she found MMA to be more difficult than boxing? Hear it from the champ herself.
