After those comments on death Mike Tyson made lately on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion of the world was spotted leaving the Miami International Airport in a wheelchair. Following the incident, it was soon revealed that Tyson has been suffering from a condition known as sciatica. The 56-year-old regularly trained, though it was over a decade since he hung up his gloves and had done away with pro boxing.

Astonishingly, Mike Tyson is not the first famous athlete to suffer from sciatica. Tiger Woods, who won 82 official PGA Tour events, had to also deal with the sufferings of sciatica.

Tiger Woods also had sciatica like Mike Tyson
Woods had long suffered from sciatica that impeded his performance. Finally, in 2017, Woods made up his mind to go through a surgery and get rid of the uncontrollable pains. Dr. Richard Guyer of the Center for Disc Replacement at the Texas Back Institute performed the surgery. Because of herniations and three other surgeries, “Woods’ bottom lower-back disc severely narrowed” and caused sciatica.

After the surgery, Woods had said, “The surgery went well, and I’m optimistic this will relieve my back spasms and pain. When healed, I look forward to getting back to a normal life, playing with my kids, competing in professional golf and living without the pain I have been battling so long.”

Apart from his mental health, Mike Tyson had to quit boxing due to his back. It looks like the same condition has newly developed into sciatica. Tyson once revealed that he had a very peculiar issue with his back. According to him, his spine just kept shifting over the years. He said, “I have a bad back and since all of the work that I’ve put over the years, the spine in my back just starts shifting. I have to get the operation but the doctor said, ‘Hey eventually you’re gonna have to start bending over.”
