The four-division champion Canelo Alvarez is one of the most iconic boxers of his generation. Having held titles from light middleweight to light heavyweight divisions, Alvarez is set to take on Dmitry Bivol for the WBA light heavyweight championship.

The Mexican legend does not seem to be hanging up his gloves anytime soon. However, he has shed some light on some of his plans after retirement.

Will Canelo Alvarez take up professional golfing?

Even though his story is far from the end, Alvarez’s career will go down as one of the most illustrious careers in boxing history. Having won titles in four weight classes and unified titles in three of those weight classes and lineal titles in two. However, Alvarez has shared some insight into his life after boxing.

In an interview with DAZN Boxing, Alvarez was asked about his newfound love and passion for the sport of golf. He was asked whether he would pursue golf as a career after retiring. Alvarez answered that by stating how difficult the sport is and how early you have to start.

He replied, “No, it’s hard to say. You need to start since young. Golf is so hard so difficult. You want to be pro it’s going to, it’s difficult.”

Although Canelo Alvarez expressed the difficulties of the sport, he also mentioned how he loves a challenge and ended the segment by keeping the fans at the edge of their seats. He stated, “You never know.”

The Mexican has a newfound love and passion for golf. While being the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, Alvarez is also a very skilled golfer. He competes in many celebrity events as well as amateur tournaments. Alvarez has garnered wins in golf as well.

Canelo Alvarez has his first accolade in the sport. The four-division champion won his amateur tournament at the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. Fans can look forward to Canelo going up against other celebrities in more golf tournaments.
