Deontay Wilder’s dream of setting a new record for most successful title defenses came to a tragic halt at ‘Wilder vs. Fury 2‘.

The fight began with Tyson Fury rushing to the offensive as soon as the bell sounded. The two went toe-to-toe for most part of the round. Wilder managed to land a few of his revered right hands.

The fight remained in Fury’s control after the first round. The Gypsy King delivered a devastating right hook to Wilder’s right ear, allegedly causing an eardrum to burst. Wilder dropped to the ground, wincing due to the pain in his right ear. He got back up, dazed with the buzz in his ears. For quite some while, Wilder held his ground with lingering consciousness.
