Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are set to face each other for the second time in an epic rematch. They first clashed heads on December 1, 2018. A debatable decision by the judges translated to a rematch. Both boxers will square off on February 22, 2020.

With the betting odds slightly in favor of Tyson Fury, it is evident that many people believe that Fury won the first fight. Since their first bout, both fighters were able to keep their unbeaten status intact.

British boxer Anthony Joshua believes that Fury will be better in the second fight and make the necessary changes required to win.

Anthony Joshua believes that Fury has an advantage

Unlike Wilder, Fury is not known for his punching power. But, Anthony Joshua had a different say in this matter.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Joshua said:

“I think Fury can win. For Wilder to win he has to knock Fury completely out, and he couldn’t do that the first time.

“For Fury to win, he can hurt Wilder or out-box him. Fury has more to his arsenal so that’s why I’m leaning to him.

“Fury can punch a bit. He’s underestimated with his punching power which makes him dangerous. If you underestimate someone it makes them dangerous because you don’t respect them until you get hit.”

There is some truth to Anthony Joshua’s statements. Tyson Fury holds a pro boxing record of 30-0-1. Twenty of Fury’s victories came either by a KO/TKO. That is almost 70% of his matches. It will be crazy on Wilder’s part to think that Tyson Fury can’t hurt him. Fury is a big heavyweight, he may not have one-punch knockout power like Wilder but over time the damage will add up.

Should Tyson Fury win his match against Deontay Wilder, a match between Fury and Joshua will be inevitable as both fighters have shown interest in fighting each other.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said: “AJ wants to fight Fury, Fury wants to fight AJ. It’s a two-minute call with MTK and Bob Arum, done deal.”

However, if Fury wins, a trilogy between him and Wilder is more likely to happen first. And if Wilder wins the second fight, we might not get to see Wilder vs Joshua.  Since Wilder referred to Joshua as “irrelevant.”
