Katherine Schwarzenegger, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s eldest daughter, has had loving but strict parenting growing up from the bodybuilding icon and Hollywood star, and her reporter mother Maria Shriver. There was one instance where he even threw her shoes in the fire when she did not keep them in the mud room despite him telling her incessantly. However, she always says that his teachings were what made her what she is today and helped her in the parenting of her two daughters.
She said an Instagram story with a real where a mother was showing how Austrian kids grew up and sleep in a room that is extremely cold but it helps because of the fresh air. It is then that she realized why she grew up as she did.

The 34-year-old author took to her Instagram and shared a story with a reel which showed that in Austria the kids are made to sleep in a cold room. The windows of the room are opened to let the fresh cold air come into the room while the bed is made warm with heaters for the child. After the dinner is done, the children are put to bed and the windows are closed which makes the bed warm and the room cool. This temperature difference and the fresh air along with it makes the kids sleep better and have a healthier sleep cycle.
She captioned the post saying, “This explains so much about my dad and my childhood.” She realized why her father brought her up the way he did. The Schwarzenegger family serves as a heartwarming example of how mindful parenting along with love and laughter can make children grow up in a happy household.
Schwarzenegger uses a lot of parenting methods she learned from her parents on her children and maybe this also helped her write her bestselling children’s books.

She has no regrets about her childhood
The mother of 2 prefers to protect the privacy of her children but also posts on Instagram about their happy moments. The parenting duo envisioned their kids first knowing themselves before they are exposed to the world. Her household is a complete replica of her parents who also kept her away from the limelight when she was younger.
In an interview with New York Times, the author of Gift of Forgiveness expressed her happiness and respect for, “How much of life my parents kept private.” Her parents ensured that her life was private when she was growing up. The eldest daughter of the Schwarzenegger household said, “They didn’t take us to red carpets, they didn’t have us parading around in front of everybody.”
