During the NBA Playoffs 2020, it was almost certain that if the Boston Celtics could overcome the Raptors, they would meet the Bucks in the conference finals. However, underdogs Miami Heat played the spoilsport, and that did not happen.

As fate would have it, the two green sides are finally up against one another in their respective season openers. The Bucks are a slightly different roster than it was in the last season, while the C’s are mostly the same. Take a look at some important detailing before the two EC giants lock horns.

For the Boston Celtics, the list of injuries is rather scary. They listed their star guard Kemba Walker ‘Out’ of the game against the Bucks. He will not make a return this month, and the physicians will medically evaluate him in January. His left knee received a stem cell injection and it might take some more time for him to start proper practice and make a return.

Next, they have listed center Tacko Fall on a Day-to-Day decision. Also, Shooting Guard Romeo Langford will not play ahead of his recovery.

The possible Celtics line-up: Jeff Teague (PG), Marcus Smart (SG), Jaylen Brown (SF), Jayson Tatum (PF), and Daniel Theis (C).

The injury report for the Bucks is comparatively much better, with just point guard D. J. Augustin, who is listed as a Day-to-Day decision. He has reported calf soreness and hence is doubtful.

The possible Bucks line-up: Jrue Holiday (PG), Donte DiVincenzo (SG), Khris Middleton (SF), Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF), and Brook Lopez (C).

Who wins?

Interestingly, the preseason went similarly poor for both the teams. The Celtics lost their matches against the 76ers and the Nets. On the other side, the Bucks lost theirs against the Mavericks (twice) and the Pelicans. For the Bucks, Giannis certainly remained the star in the first two games with his double-doubles. Also, the hyped entrant in Jrue Holiday has shown a two-way capacity in the warmup games. These two, along with forward Khris Middleton, will surely bring up their offense. Lastly, their re-signing of Pat Connaughton has not shown any fruitful outcomes as of now.

For the Walker-less Celtics, it will be tough to crack the defense of the Bucks. Although they now have a trustworthy stopgap in Jeff Teague who can fill the void. Still, it seems more likely that the Bucks will come at the top in the season opener.
