The Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund have signed Swiss goalkeeper Roman Burki from FC Freiburg. Freiburg was relegated from the Bundesliga last season, but Burki has impressed the team in yellow and blue despite the team’s overall poor performances.

Despite playing all the 34 matches for the club, he couldn’t protect the team from their relegation. He has also played 2 matches for the Swiss national side.

Though Dortmund haven’t announced the player’s transfer fee or his wages,it is estimated to be around €3.5 million. He would be a good replacement for the aging  Weidenfeller, who is 34 years old, alongside Langerak.

The player, has been shown to be good throughout the season, with an average rating of 7.07 after playing all the matches for the team., according to WhoScored.  The player, right now injured due to an elbow injury is expected to recover by the end of the month. He has also played for the Swiss clubs Young Boys, FC Thun and Grasshoppers FC before joining die Schwarzgelben.

This comes after manager Klopp resigned at the end of the season to be replaced by Thomas Tuchel. This signing is the third of this transfer season following Gonzalo Castro from Bayer Leverkusen and Julian Weigl from 1860 Munich .
