Recent reports suggest that Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee for the transfer of Italian striker Fabio Borini to Serie A side Lazio, which is around the region of £8 million. Sources at Sky suggest that a deal was bound to happen and it was just a case that whether it will be a cash plus player deal or not.
Liverpool were believed to be interested in Lazio’s young striker Keita Balde Diao. It was rumoured that Fabio Borini could be used as bait, in order to bring the young striker to Anfield.
The Reds are believed to see huge potential in Keita, a Spanish striker. Although he wasn’t used much by Lazio, he has shown promise in his displays for the Spain U-21 side.
As it stands, it seems likely that the deal will purely be a cash deal. Borini is expected to attend the medical this week in Rome.
The 24-year old started 3 league games for the Reds in last season’s Premier League. Borini is expected to fall further down the club’s pecking order next term with the recent signings of Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers had already made it clear that Borini will not be a part of his future plans for Liverpool.
