Manchester City have completed the signing of Wilfried Bony from Swansea City for an initial fee of £25 million.
City agreed a fee for the 26-year-old over the weekend, following days of haggling with Swansea. This figure could rise to £28m depending on Bony’s success at the Etihad Stadium. Bony is currently on international duty, preparing for the African Cup. But he has been given time to negotiate personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Premier League.
Bony told City’s official website: “It’s a great feeling for me, it’s a big honour to be here and it’s a great challenge”.
Bony is likely to be City’s only January signing, but Pellegrini has not ruled out making further additions.
He scored three goals in two games against City as a Swansea player and signed a new contract at the Liberty Stadium recently in November.
