Heartfelt condolences started flooding social media when the devastating news of Former NPC Teen National Champion Matt McLaughlin’s demise broke out. The retired 51-year-old bodybuilder was born in Boston, Massachusetts.  McLaughlin rose to unparalleled prominence back in 1992 when he came out victorious in the NPC Teen competition. 

His sad and unexpected demise has shaken the internet with the deepest sympathies going out to his family and relatives.

In a recent Instagram post uploaded by Generation Iron, the internet came to know about the heart-breaking passing of Matt McLaughlin. Along with the photo of the bodybuilding legend, there was a caption confirming his passing away, “Former NPC Teen National Champion Matt McLaughlin has passed away. GI sends condolences to family and friends during this time.”  The bodybuilder breathed his last on 5 January 2024.

 

According to the Sun, back in 2019, he had heart surgery, and the repercussions of this surgery are said to be the cause of his death. McLaughlin in his younger days was passionate about various sports such as riding, etc. Once he came to realize his physical prowess, he stepped into the bodybuilding world and made his name. He also held a matchless record in weightlifting when he was a student at Kennedy Junior High School.

After his marvelous victory in 1992, McLaughlin’s prowess made him the winner again in the Light-Heavyweight division in 1993. He secured the first position in the NPC North American Championships. Since then, he continued to climb the ladder of success until he announced his retirement in 2001. Now that he has passed away, fans are recalling his golden journey and sending condolences to his family.

Being emotional about his demise, another commented, “Please don’t do drugs not worth it I have been a natural 40 years now I’m 63 years old so happy I never did steroids, prayers going out to him and his family and friends ❤️❤️”
