The unexpected demise of a 14-year-old boy due to cardiac arrest has shaken the entire fitness world. The sudden death of the boy during a fitness event organized by the school has left everyone in a state of deep sorrow and people are still unable to figure out how and why the cardiac arrest occurred. 

The boy was recognized as Knox Mcewen from Florida. Moreover, the police are also looking into the matter and updating the relatives and guardians in which circumstances he passed away. The Florida teenager was a Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program member. After this distressing incident took place, the fitness world became curious to learn more about this cardiac danger.

The cases of cardiac arrest are increasing day by day. Regardless of age and good health, people are losing their lives just because they participate in hard-core cardio exercises that sometimes disturb the heart functioning due to fluctuations in the heart rhythm. According to Local10, in a recent incident. Knox Mcewen passed away at a Florida high school during a 5K race. 

As per the police, Mcewen reportedly suffered a heart attack during Saturday morning’s run at Everglades High School. Soon after he passed away, the authority of the school shared this information with parents and relatives. According to the principal of the school, there will be grief counselors on campus all week.

The police said, “CPR was being given by paramedics on the scene.” They further went on to say that the fire rescue arrived immediately and took the teen to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he soon was declared dead.

Community creates memorial page to support the family

One of the family friends of Knox Mcewen said on the unexpected demise “Knox was a kindhearted soul, an animal lover, and has been a quiet protector of his sweet Mama who’s been recovering from a mean battle with cancer. Knox was a gift to all who knew him.” Moreover, Mewen used to be in touch with a church, and members of the church built a fundraising site with prayers and heartfelt condolences.

The church authorities also made a ‘food train’ option available on the site to help the family during this hard time. On the other hand, supporting the family, the school principal of Mcewen, said, “I want to offer my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, teachers, and classmates as they mourn this great loss. I ask our Wildcat community to rally around the family in prayer and support during this time of deep sorrow.”
