Bodybuilding is a rather physically demanding sport. While it requires an unwavering commitment to push through your limits, sometimes it is important to listen to your body and know when to give it a break. However, with the rising competition in the arena, bodybuilders often think about alternatives to get their workout done, rather than taking a recovery period when they are injured.
This is what causes a lot of serious issues. The reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead recently talked about such instances. He mocked the fact that many bodybuilders did not listen to their bodies and tried too hard.

Chris Bumstead recently took to his official YouTube channel and shared a video, where he is seen pulling out an intense arm workout with internet sensation and fitness trainer Justin King guiding him. In the middle of their workout, they were seen discussing the importance of giving your body a good rest when it deserves it.
CBum, making fun of bodybuilders who often fail to do so, said, “Bodybuilders are hilarious because they are like, “Oh I hurt my shoulder, so instead of doing shoulder press, I’m just going to do machine shoulder press.” He further went on to add that when they did so, they were making their bodies more injury-prone. “You’re just limiting yourself for more injury and then you know, you can’t move and you wonder why,” he explained.

Bodybuilding is more than just hitting PRs: Chris Bumstead
Bumstead brought up the conversation about how many people have the misconception that bodybuilding is different from functional training. He said, “People often think that bodybuilders don’t like to learn new things, they don’t like rehab injury prevention they’re just like PRs and then machines.”

CBum, however, intended to break that stereotype by collaborating with the fitness coach. He explained he had injured himself a lot in the past so this was him trying to make a preventative fix. CBum intended to make some changes in his training after getting his body tested with King. Through that, Bumstead emphasized how bodybuilding was not just about aesthetics and lifting, but also about recovery and understanding.
