It is not easy to lead a life as a bodybuilder especially when one needs to change their entire lifestyle for the sake of their career. Years after he retired from professional bodybuilding, Jay Cutler finally revealed the struggles one faces as a bodybuilder.
Jay Cutler had won 4 Mr. Olympia titles. Not only that, but he had also snatched away the crown from the 8X Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman. Hence, no one can ever question the capabilities and the dedication portrayed by Cutler towards training and bodybuilding altogether. However, in the process, he had to face several troubles that he spoke about recently.

Cutler uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel. In it, he mentioned how the time range varies when it comes to prepping for a show or a contest. While some people take a 6-month long challenge others can engage in a regime that might only last for nearly 10 weeks. He then confessed something about his goals and training process. He stated, “My whole prep was around 16 weeks. So four months, I would basically have one goal in mind and that would be to look my absolute best.”
The bodybuilder then slowly came to the struggles he had to face during the journey towards fulfilling his goals. He confessed, “We went through a lot of trials and you know, you go through injuries, you go through everything, relationship problems. You go through family issues, trying to balance your you know, traveling, and getting your training.”

Earlier in the video, Cutler delved into some moments about a scattered family and how he felt about having to celebrate Thanksgiving without family.

Cutler reflected on the fact that earlier in his life, everyone would be celebrating Thanksgiving with their families. Then the bodybuilder pointed out the sad truth of a hectic life. He revealed, “Our family’s kind of scattered now. Yeah, it’s just you know, ’cause it’s like the spouses and everyone else, it’s like the families all get in different places, you know. Yeah, it’s hard to get everyone in one space.” He also stated that it was hard to get together because of time restraints and different schedules.

Although the aesthetic physique shown in the stages of bodybuilding might make the bodybuilders look extremely happy and content, the reality can be a bit upsetting. Like any other sport, bodybuilders often have to compromise their social and personal life’s very basic elements just to perform well professionally. Jay Cutler’s recent revelation has pointed out that reality yet again.
