Known as the Pro Creator coach, Hany Rambod is a towering figure in the bodybuilding world, with 24 Olympia-winning athletes under his guidance. Apart from the bodybuilding world, he also has a YouTube channel where he shares podcasts and training tips. Recently, he invited seven-time Mr. Olympia champion Phil Heath on his podcast, The Truth.

In the podcast, Heath and Rambod talked about a key moment in Heath’s early career—his first pro show in 2006 in Colorado. Rambod highlighted Heath being scared for his show and approaching it with casual behavior.

Heath felt overwhelmed at his first event, going around clicking pictures with other athletes and taking their autographs, neglecting his performance. Then Hany stepped in, telling Heath,” You can win this you don’t understand you can win this stop f****ng around and go out there like you’re actually deserve to win this,” which changed his approach to the competition.

Rambod mentioned Peter McGuff was walking over to Heath and said,” Whatever he just said to you you listen to it.” It sparked something in Heath, and all of a sudden it was game-on. He remembered his first few callouts as warmups. But when Daren Charles came on stage, they both posed with everything they had to out-perform each other. It was like an intense showdown.

The seven-time Olympian also mentioned a less-known fact about his first show happening in his hometown. Everyone from the bodybuilding community in Denver was there to support him. He shed light on the fact that Hany did what other coaches like Ron Howard, Mike Bea, and Jason Basket did for him, telling him it was his time to shine and win. The rest is history, which we all know. Further in the video, Heath shared a funny fact about him that most people don’t know about.

Heath also talked about a lesser-known fact about him. He wasn’t always in dream-killer mode. He then highlighted that at his first pro competition, he was feeling confused and nervous, just like in his amateur days. While competing with big names like Bill Wilmore and Daren Charles, being a fan of these guys made him more anxious about his performance.
