When we think of bodybuilding, we often envision sculpted biceps, chiseled abs, and powerful pectoral muscles. However, there’s one vital muscle group that is often overlooked in the pursuit of an aesthetically pleasing physique: the glutes. Despite being the largest and strongest muscle group in the body, glute training is frequently neglected by bodybuilders.?

As bodybuilders strive for the perfect physique, it’s important not to overlook the powerhouse that is the gluteal muscles. Arnold Classic champion Rich Gaspari pointed this out in his recent Instagram post where he educated the audience and shared his secret to achieving defined glutes.

Strong and shapely glutes not only improve the appearance of the lower body but also create the illusion of a smaller waist and add balance and symmetry to the physique. Neglecting glute training may result in a disproportional look, hindering the overall symmetry and muscularity that bodybuilders work so hard to achieve. Recommending an effective exercise for this, Gaspari wrote,?”Sumo squats are great to hit legs but more of an overall Glute exercise to really hit them deep.”

Continuing further, he added,?“Using the two platforms give you an even better stretch to burn glutes even more. I do these after walking lunges with DB?s doing 20 reps so for Sumo squats I do 20 to 30 reps to really burn your legs and glutes even more.”

A while ago, he opened up about what he did differently than modern bodybuilders which proved to be beneficial.

Gaspari was the hardest worker in the room!

A few months back, Gaspari was attacked by the fans of Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan after Gaspari commented on Choopan’s back workout during one of his podcasts. Breaking it down for the fans, Gaspari explained what he really meant was that the bodybuilders previously used to train super hard compared to modern athletes who often rely much more on anabolics rather than training heavily.?
