Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn’t have done it alone
As per a Parade interview, that surfaced on Thursday, a day before his Schwarzenegger web series, FUBAR’s, release, the 75-year-old icon candidly chatted about his life and hopes for the future. Hinting at his past, he was asked why the “tone” of his Netflix series and his movie, True Lies, have such similarities. His response was rather a sound explanation of the strategies used to make his films popular.

“Many of my action movies were seen by just men. It was like 65 to 70 percent,” he admitted. Thus, the involvement of Academy-award-winning actress, Jamie Lee Curtis, decided the fate of the movie. The 6’2 actor added, “So now comes True Lies. Jamie Lee Curtis is in there. Sexy Jamie Lee Curtis.”
The Austrian Oak claimed that the 64-year-old actress played a central and pioneering role in the movie. “And she has a very powerful role—more so than the man. And it was comedy and action. There’s something in there for everybody!” he disclosed in the Parade interview. He further described his statement with a hypothetical scenario.
Schwarzenegger reveals what Netflix took inspiration from
The IFBB champion spoke in the interview, illustrating the situation of a couple watching his movie on a date. “When the guy goes with the date to the movie, she’s not coming out saying “I hate this.” They thought it was so much fun,” he says. The actor intends to spotlight the essence of the iconic actress, which extended their target audience beyond just action-seeking men. Moreover, it was an action-comedy, and people usually enjoy this genre’s movies and series.

Hence, this strategy served as the foundation for Netflix and curated the recent dramedy series along the same lines. Schwarzenegger admitted, “That’s what created this big box office. People are still talking about it, and I think that’s why Netflix did the series.”
