Frank Zane highlights the importance of protein drink

The Chemist posted a photograph of himself on Instagram. Furthermore, he previewed the discussion by writing  “Advancement of Nutrition” over the snap. In the caption, the 81-year-old fitness guru refers to the importance of meal replacements. He wrote, “A protein drink is a meal replacement where you get protein, carbs, some fats, fiber, you sip it slowly, and your body digests it like a meal.” 

He also informed subscribers that chugging the replacement is an easy way to derive the benefits of “eating something by drinking it.” Moreover, due to progress in nutritional science, most health drinks are fortified with micronutrients. The 3x Mr. Olympia reinforces the idea by adding, “You can swallow vitamins and minerals with it too.” The Chemist has always been a big proponent of proteins. Moreover, in his yesteryears, Zane used a completely mindboggling method to up his protein intake.

Zane relied on amino acids during his prime

Last year, the IFBB Hall of Fame inductee told Men’s Health about a novel approach that helped him during his bodybuilding years. To the unversed, it may come as a surprise that Zane popped almost 30 tablets of amino acids. In the interview, the Chemist quipped, “The main thing is to get enough high-quality protein in the diet. It’s challenging to get 200 grams of protein a day, so free-form amino acids are what I’ve taken for years since that’s what protein eventually becomes.”
