Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 Cent, has been among the most influential rap artists for decades. From music to acting and business, Jackson found success in various fields. The 48-year-old will grace the silver screen in the much-anticipated sequel of Expendables 3. Recently, the $40 million net-worth rap legend sat with Men’s Health for a retrospective interview. Men’s Health got hold of some rare images of Jackson and asked him to explain the story behind them.?

One photograph showed Jackson’s lifelong interest in fitness. In the image, a 15-year-old 50 Cent posed for the camera to show off his ripped physique. Jackson seemed surprised because he didn’t remember having too many pictures taken when he was 15. However, the 48-year-old explained the backstory of the photograph.

Working out was a positive influence on the rapper

While nothing other than a 15-year-old with a six-pack stood out in the image, Jackson revealed the full picture.?“What gym routine was it for this guy with this six-pack?”?50 Cent said in the interview. The 48-year-old drew the viewers’ attention toward the gate he was posing in front of. The rapper said it was the gate of a?“juvenile facility.”

Like many rappers, Curtis Jackson didn’t have an easy childhood. The youth landed in trouble with the law before gradually leaving trouble behind with his growing music career. At 15, 50 Cent was at a juvenile facility that urged the youths to partake in fitness. Jackson chose fitness to focus his mind, and it acted as a positive influence in his life.

“Fitness there was… you had to kind of keep yourself together to create less altercations,”?Jackson told Men’s Health. However, while the rapper worked out regularly, he didn’t have a healthy diet. The 48-year-old said that despite his diet, he built a sic pack because, at 15, his metabolism was?“getting rid of everything.”?As he grew older, Jackson’s fitness routine transformed.

How Jackso’s fitness regimen changed over the years

During the interview, the rapper said he began watching his diet after getting into acting. While he was shredded as a teen, some roles required him to put on weight. So 50 Cent started exercising with heavier weights. He also dropped the fast food to gain muscle and remain lean.
