However, it often happens that the legend himself is left inspired by the eye-opening journeys of several individuals. To reiterate his appreciation for the warriors battling severe health concerns, he shared the story of a cancer survivor who rose above her physical limitations, in his newsletter. 

A subscriber and fitness enthusiast, Cathy S. had been struggling with cancer for years, With a family history of the disease, she was diagnosed with it late in her life. Even though her first surgery was successful, it was only the beginning of an array of health struggles. After 11 concerning surgeries, she contemplated taking the IFBB pro’s advice and charted her road to fitness.

According to the source, the 75-year-old legend took the opportunity to promote another follower’s journey to physical competence. Referring to his subscriber base as “village”, he expressed his astonishment over the extraordinary stories he comes across by means of this venture. “It’s an honor to hear from all of you and share your stories,” he wrote before introducing Cathy’s journey to the world. With a prompt glimpse into her family, she revealed that both her parents succumbed to the disease at different ages in their life. Soon, she was also diagnosed with cancer at 49, which terrified her.

After an unproblematic tumor surgery, a later injury with internal stitches was the start of an overwhelming number of surgeries in her life; “I’ve had eleven cancer-related surgeries,” she stated. The injury led to a great loss of blood and repeated infections as her wounds got septic. However, the dire issue was her steady joint pain. The cancer treatments were the primary reason. Therefore, at his point, Cathy contemplated a non-allopathic way and resorted to physical fitness. She deduced that regular movements and walking helped with her joint pain.

The fitness enthusiast didn’t let the disease hinder her lifestyle, hence, she never compromised on her flower and vegetable gardening. Moreover, stumbling upon The Austrian Oak’s newsletter, she was inspired to walk a minimum of 10,000 steps every day this year. In the end, she reflected on her iron-willed mindset that helped her out of the grave scenario. Although what really sparked the change within her?

Despite her astounding passion for a good life, some days were unimaginably difficult for her. Cathy disclosed that her dog was a great motivator and accompanied her during the fitness routines. She has come a long way from the struggles and is grateful for her present. She wrote, “When things are really hard, and you feel like quitting, shutting all the noise and interference out, and doing the best you can to concentrate on the next small step (rather than the big, scary picture) will eventually get you to the other side of what you’re facing.”

Even though her battle is over, Cathy intends to prioritize fitness as a crucial aspect of her life. With one step at a time, she overpowered one of the most dangerous diseases in the world, and the community can’t help but be inspired.
