‘The Chemist’ A.K.A Frank Zane was a maths and chemistry teacher for 13 years before taking the bodybuilding world by storm. His wisdom and aesthetic physique were always admired in the bodybuilding community and is still praised by everyone. The 81-year-old had won Mr. Olympia 3 times and even defeated Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The man of wisdom and aesthetic physique recently sat down with Michael Stein and spoke about his illustrious career. The man who was included in the Hall of Fame in 1999 reminisced back to the old days and also gave some insight about his present time in life where he is in the golden stages of his life.

Frank Zane just wants to stay alive

While speaking about the present era of bodybuilding and how the body type differences are stark between the two eras, the conversation went to Zane’s dietary needs. Stein asked Zane about his present stage of life where he is 80 and said, ?I know you?re 80 but you still have uh?. what?s on your horizon??? ‘The Chemist’ hilariously answered, ?Stay alive!? and made Michael burst into laughter. Stein then proceeded to ask how he was doing in that department.

Zane replied, ?I?m doing good. Stay alive, stay well you know I don?t suffer from illness or injury and you know, just keep going.? This simple outlook on life is what has kept Zane fit and healthy for a long time. Michael complimented him on his physicality and he asked how Zane felt internally. The bodybuilding legend had a positive answer even for that.

Then Michael asked him about his dietary changes since becoming older and the time he eats his meals. Zane casually answered about his disciple’s dietary plans and said, ?5 or 6 pm. I do not eat much red meat nowadays. It?s usually fish and eggs for breakfast with maybe some sliced avocado, and grated cheese. Small slice whole grain bread.? And for dinner, he eats, ?8 to 10 ounces of grilled salmon, salad usually with that.?

The man who loved red meat when he was young slowly cut it off from his diet as he got older to regulate his digestion. He previously revealed a secret to getting six packs as well where diet was an important factor.

He had previously?posted on his Instagram about getting tined?abs. The bodybuilder and former teacher said, ?Eating the right?diet and aerobic exercise can keep the subcutaneous fat layer thin, covering the abs.??

However, these were not the only actions that would help with abs according to him. There is more to this game than just diet. Zane explained that concentrating on abdominal exercise was a must for getting six packs.?
