Starting her career back in 2011, Courtney King won the NPC Teen National Championships in the Bikini division. Following this, she won her IFBB Pro card the next year after she won the 2012 NPC USA Championships. King had also participated and won the first overall Jay Cutler Classic that very year.

However, that was only the beginning of her career. For the next six years, Courtney participated in 18 Pro events while winning 6. In the year 2016, she also won Bikini Olympia and defeated none other than the three-time winner of the same title, Ashley Kaltwasser. 2016 was the year when she had also won the Arnold Classic Australia. However, two years later, in 2018, she announced her retirement citing health issues.

The year she retired, is also when she started dating the present Mr. Olympia in Classic Physique who was yet to make his name in the professional bodybuilding world back then.

The year after King retired from her bodybuilding career, Chris Bumstead won his very first Mr. Olympia title and he has been winning it since then. The couple, on the other hand, got engaged in 2022, and subsequently, during CBum’s prep for the 2023 Mr. Olympia, they revealed that they were expecting a baby soon.

Although the couple is quite open about their affection for each other over the internet, they still prefer to keep some important things private. Their baby is one of them. During his preparation for Mr. Olympia 2023, when some fans were questioning Bumstead for his announcement about his health issues, Courtney King had repeatedly showed him support over the internet. However, when it came to their baby’s name reveal, the couple only revealed the initial to be ‘B’.

Courtney King doesn’t mind if her child chooses not to be a bodybuilder

In one of the Q&A sessions about her baby, when someone asked the couple about their opinion on the baby’s career, King promptly crossed out bodybuilding from the list. She stated, “In any way before you would think because he’s doing it and currently does it and I’ve done it. that we’re like yeah bodybuilding. And I’m all for like you know being active and working out or whatever she wants to do whatever, even if she doesn’t want to do that that’s fine.” King kept on repeating how she wanted her baby girl to do whatever she wanted, even when Chris Bumstead humorously pondered over options like tennis, gymnastics, or even powerlifting. But all Courtney could think of was the wishes of her child.
