An athlete’s journey may is not easy at all. Especially if one has been on a hiatus and is looking to make a comeback. Angelica Teixeira, a two-time Ms. Bikini Olympia winner, took a break from competing to focus on her family. Now, she’s gearing up for a lethal comeback after four years. She last took part in the Olympia in 2020 and placed 4th. In the same year, in the 2020 Battle of Texas Pro Bikini show, she emerged as the winner.

It was after these shows that she announced the fact that she was taking a break. Recently, on Jay Cutler’s Cutler Cast podcast, which was uploaded on his YouTube channel, Teixeira officially announced that in 2024 she’ll step onto the stage again and compete with top female bodybuilders.

Teixeira has taken to Instagram and posted a snippet of her recent interview with 4x Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler and Manager Matt. She shared the decision with fans that she’ll return to the stage. Her decision may be really inspiring for mothers who have left their careers behind to take care of their families.

“I’ll come back. So that’s the official show announcement. I’ll come back, I’ll apply for the Arnold 2024. Hopefully, they will accept me,” she mentioned in the video. Her comeback is going to be at the 2024 Arnold Classic, in the bikini division.

She wrote in her lengthy caption, “This comeback is special on so many levels! I’m so excited to share every step of this prep with you guys!” Additionally, she’s planning to enroll herself in the 2024 Olympia as well, as the marquee event returns to Las Vegas next year.

The fitness journey that began at 14-years-old

The four-time Arnold Classic Champion in the Bikini Division has taken the stage by storm for eight years. From her early struggles to dominating the competition with confidence, her journey was nothing but the pursuit of excellence and dedication. The 40-year-old athlete still maintains her physique and shows her significance on social media. However, her path to success was not as easy as it seems. The Brazilian athlete’s love for fitness began when she was young.

During her school days, she faced bullying for being skinny. So, she joined the gym at 14. She was fascinated with weight training but was told she was too young to lift weights. Courageously, she started with group training to stay active. When she turned 18, she delved into Brazilian dance and weightlifting, and eventually got a degree in Sports Science.

Later on, her husband Marco Teixeira got transferred to the USA and they both moved to the USA. Initially, she faced challenges because of the language that acted as a barrier, but she was determined to continue her fitness career, learning English while working in a supermarket in Texas.

The turning point 

The couple left Texas and moved to New Jersey, where Teixeira’s fitness career began. She found a gym and applied for the job of a trainer. Within a month, her fitness classes became an instant hit. Moreover, she was intrigued by professional figures and began her own competing journey in 2013 in the Figure category. With just a month’s preparation, she took part in “New York it was Steve’s” and finished 16th in the show. Teixeira confessed while talking to Jay Culter that she made many mistakes in the beginning while advising others not to repeat the same.

Initially, she participated in figure shows, because she had no idea about the categories and what would benefit her perfectly. After several shows, she discovered the world of bikini contests. Despite facing difficulties and making mistakes, she persevered. Her third figure show led her to clarity and then she decided to try both.

The New Jersey Show became a life-changing moment for her as she competed in both the figure and bikini divisions, with a goal of qualifying for the Nationals. She placed second in that show in Figure division and became a path for the glorious journey.

Her unwavering determination is driven by the belief that she can reach the pinnacle of the sport again. The sports fanatics eagerly waiting for her comeback on the stage.
