The five-time Mr. Olympia Chris Bumstead has surprised fans with insights into his eclectic music preferences during workouts. Amidst the clang of weights and the intensity of his drills, Bumstead confessed to having a unique playlist dominated by pop sensation Taylor Swift.

In a recent interview snippet shared by the FlowPDC page on Instagram, CBum talked about his all-time favorite music artist Taylor Swift. But what Taylor Swift songs did he prefer?

The host of the Flow podcast Igor Coelho, curiously asked the Classic physique champ, about the tunes that fuel his training sessions, “CBum is it true that you train listening to Taylor Swift?” With a confident smile, Bumstead expressed, “Of course! Who else would I listen to? She’s the best.”

Further probed about his musical allegiance, the 28-year-old, confirmed, “Only the old Taylor Swift, though.” This unexpected revelation added a nostalgic touch to his workout routine, suggesting a unique synergy between the old-school Taylor Swift tracks and the rigors of his training regimen. Bumstead’s revelation highlights that even elite athletes have their rituals and preferences to get in the zone. As he continues to dominate the bodybuilding stage, fans now have a unique insight into the soundtracks that accompany his journey to greatness.

But did you know that there is one particular habit fans find weird about him? Well, before his fifth Olympia, CBum candidly admitted why he never had songs blasting out loud in his training videos.

CBum’s concern about legal issues

A while back, the King of Aesthetics shared a chest day workout video on his YouTube channel and revealed a surprising habit. He explained why some fans called him a psychopath. Turns out, he does not have music on loudspeakers while training. The soon-to-be father, stated, “I’m normally in here F**ng blasting old school Eminem or something better than epidemic sounds.” He further said,  “But I can’t play music on YouTube. Call me a psychopath, but it’s about legal issues. If I use music I might get a strike on my video due to copyright policies.”

He sacrificed playing music out loud in the gym while filming so that fans could still enjoy his video without interruptions and the legal ramifications that might come about with the usage of copyrighted music being heard in the background. However, the next time you see him grinding in the gym with headphones on, you can guess that he’s sculpting his physique to the familiar sounds of “Love Story” or “You Belong to Me.”
