From being an opiate addict to detoxing the gym culture, Joseph Sergo aka Joey Swoll found his life’s purpose a couple of years back. He labeled himself as the CEO of gym positivity and comes to the rescue of victims trolled by gym-goers. He also encourages his followers to maintain a positive environment in their workout space.
A recent youtube video posted by a gym-goer, commenting about the outfits one should wear for working out, didn’t impress Swoll. He shared the video and lamented how wrong and negative the content is.

The clip shows a woman giving bad reviews for a gym outfit, “If you wear something like this to the gym, I immediately think you’re a tool.” This awakened the influencer soul of Swoll, and he said that it isn’t fine to comment and judge people for their outfits. “Especially who cares? They’re not there to impress anybody! They’re there to work out,” he reasons.
A concerned 40-year-old said, “People already have enough fear, enough anxiety about going to the gym in the first place.” After watching these negative videos, they might further get discouraged thinking of labels and judgments. “What’s the point?” he questioned.
He further added that anyone can wear whatever they want, irrespective of other’s opinions. He ended the video calling out the criticizer, “Need to do better! Mind your own business!” Earlier the fitness influencer slammed a person for sharing a body-shaming clip.

Swoll was angry with the video which mocked an obese lady. The video creator made fun of a woman with flabby arms, referring to them as 60-cm biceps. The bodybuilder was astonished by the number of likes the video received and was visibly disheartened.

The bodybuilding icon further mentioned that most gym rats are good people who encourage diverse people to hit the gyms or would not interfere at all. But spreading negativity isn’t their cup of tea.
