Arnold Schwarzenegger is gearing up for the release of his upcoming television series, FUBAR. And it appears as if the 75-year-old- legendary bodybuilder still has a long time to retire. Entering the bodybuilding arena at the young age of 14, he climbed the ladder of success with his hard work and determination. Apart from being one of the most celebrated actors, the Austrian Oak also served as the governor of California between 2003 and 2011.
Now, in an exclusive interview with ET, Schwarzenegger candidly discusses how his political stint has impacted his family life. He reveals that his continuous work-related travel often caused his children to miss him, but he credits his wife for nurturing them as a working parent.
Schwarzenegger’s parenting struggles

The bodybuilding maestro is a father of 5, including Joseph Baena. His four children with Maria Shriver, his ex-wife, include Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher. They often complained about Schwarzenegger’s absence during their important life events.
He revealed in the interview that he relied heavily upon his wife for parenting. Shriver had to quit her profession to be with their kids while Schwarzenegger was busy with Governor duties. The legend recently recollected his ordeal with his children when he was heading the state.
He told ET, “But then when I came home, or I was governor for instance, and I traveled all over the state of California, I came home, the kids were crying, ‘Daddy, where were you when I had my recital?'” He also faced questions such as ‘Where were you when I needed you for my football game?’” from his children.
The Austrian Oak talks about his daughters
In an interview, he expressed that his daughters posed significant challenges, and he felt like he was collaborating with them while working alongside Monica for FUBAR. He compared their inner strength with that of their mother, Shriver. “They had their mother’s kind of strength and they are very strong inside,” he opined.
Earlier The Terminator hero had petrified his son Patrick with his transformation for the role of Mr. Freeze. While speaking to Variety, Arnold’s son admitted that he felt scared of his character in Batman & Robin and vividly remembers his father transforming into Mr. Freeze from his early childhood.

Schwarzenegger and Shriver actively demonstrate their devotion as parents to their children, overcoming their differences in catering to them together. Despite the Governor’s significant career success, he frequently expresses regret over his shortcomings as a parent.
