The discussion on supplements, PED, workout regimes, and meals per day is never-ending in the bodybuilding arena. To reach the ultimate shredded avatar bodybuilders put their body through everything they can. However, the untimely deaths of bodybuilders like George Peterson and Shawn Rhoden question the sustenance of such a harsh lifestyle. 

Kali Muscle, the famous bodybuilder, has found his answers to this persistent question after suffering a heart attack in 2021.  In an episode of Escape Your Limits Podcast, Muscle had a candid talk. The YouTuber opened up about his bad lifestyle choices that led to his cardiac issues and how the situation has changed his perspective toward bodybuilding.

The YouTuber with over 3M followers revealed that he has been on a regimen where he need not depend on food since his heart attack. “I’m crazy shredded and just don’t have to depend on food,” he said. He states that he is at 195lbs and he is loving his present self.

While opening up about his supplement intake in the show, the 48-year-old said, “Everything we learned to me, is fake.” He opposes the popular diet principles associated with bodybuilding.  “What we’ve been told we need, we don’t! Like six meals a day, four, or three meals a day,” he told the interviewer with utmost honesty.

The reporter, however, points out that the bodybuilder had already got a base and isn’t focussing on building up and hence it is working for him. To this, Muscle responded with all sincerity, “When you face death, you look at life different.”

He further adds, “We just caught up with this culture the bigger is better!” He negates such attitude by substantiating his point, “Let’s go and look at some people that’s 80, 90, and 100 years old. They are not fat they are not over muscular or buff.” He finally concludes, “That’s how my mind is now!

The former Mr.California served a jail term for robbery. While in prison, the bodybuilder depended on high-carb food such as Top Ramen. He now feels that such bad carbs have led to his heart problems and his bodybuilding career also didn’t help as he was high on steroids. 

Then to top it all off, bodybuilding would ruin it, HGH and IGF and insulin and insulin that’s clogging everything up”, he told in the interview. But realization hit Muscle only after being in a hospital bed in a critical condition. However, he is grateful for surviving and getting a second chance in life.
