His career in bodybuilding, cinema, and politics depicts his unparalleled success as a professional. However, his childhood wasn’t filled with riches, and Arnie often speaks about his troubled relationship with his father.

For the untversed, Arnie was the youngest child of Gustav Schwarzenegger and Aurelia Schwarzenegger. Gustav was a local police chief and joined the Nazis during World War II. But Arnie narrated how the post-war realization was hard on his dad.

Schwarzenegger was always on the run during his childhood to escape mistreatment from his father. Gustav used to maintain a strict regime at home, and the Austrian Oak confessed that his early years were not devoid of thrashings from his father. The need to escape from his father’s gaze made Arnie strive for his bodybuilding career.

The 76-year-old, however, was not unaware of the shattered lives of his childhood after World War II ended in 1945. Though Arnie was born two years after the war ended, the trauma inflicted by the bloodshed pursued for years. Schwarzenegger confesses that his father realized how he had fallen for the empty promises of Hilter and had lost everything in the process.

The aspirations of the “Third Reich” and “fantastic place” inculcated by Hilter were all lost after the war ended, as per the Terminator actor. He confessed to CBS News back in 2012 while dealing with the sensitive issue and said, “All of that was gone, and what was left was losers,” referring to his father and others who believed the war would bring fortune. Despite not liking his father’s attitude towards him, the bodybuilding icon trod his path to success by following his father’s words.

The Terminator actor reached the pinnacle of success by becoming the 7x Mr. Olympia champion, the action superstar of Hollywood, and the two-term Governor of California. But throughout his journey, he contributed to the growth of the arena he ventured into.
