Former Strongman, Eddie Hall, made quite a name for himself in the sports industry. He won multiple titles, however, his most notable one stands for the 2017 World’s Strongest Man. Interestingly, years before he stepped into the professional world, Hall was anxious about his career in the domain. Hence, when he almost decided to quit, his wife came to the rescue. 

Shedding light on the matter, Hall shared a recent video on his self-titled YouTube channel, speaking of the hardships he underwent ahead of going pro. His wife encouraged him with some staggering motivation, which made the athlete unstoppable.

As per the video, the 35-year-old athlete elucidated his iconic journey in the professional Strongman world. Speaking of a particular instance, he shared that after he performed the world-record deadlift of 794 lbs, his elation was “snatched” away in a split second. His friend, Magnús Ver Magnússon, outperformed him, which left Hall shattered from within.

“It went from like having ten thousand pounds prize to zero, I actually lost money that weekend,” he told reflecting on another serious aspect of the feat. Too much money was going down the drain for Hall, he couldn’t afford it. Hence, he contemplated quitting the sport.

“I got back that weekend and I decided that I wasn’t gonna be a pro strongman I actually sat down with the wife and I just started like I’ve had enough I’m sick of spending all my money, I’m sick of training all year to go and lose money at competitions I was just done, mentally done, just had enough,” the British pro recalled. Yet, his wife managed to pull him back out of the water and set him up on track.

As revealed in the YouTube snippet, Hall iterated that his wife, Alexandra came and sat down with him and said,What the f*** you’re on about, you’ve just pulled the world record deadlift, disqualified or not, you just pulled it.” Moreover, she fueled him with uplifting words. 

She expressed her faith in his skill and pointed out that if Hall could set the world record, then he can surely win the World Strongest Man. “That was my flick switch, the moment I sort of said to myself, you know what you’re f******g right,” he recounted.

Despite all the lows of his life, Hall kept at it and eventually achieved the reality he had wished for. Now, after his feat as one of the greatest strongmen in the industry, the star athlete is trying his hand in the bodybuilding industry as well.
