Genetics in bodybuilding is an important thing. The industry believes that genetics and power potential go hand in hand. There were several bodybuilding legends of optimal genetics such as Ronnie Coleman and Flex Wheeler. Another addition to this name is Lee Andrew McCutcheon aka Lee Priest. The 49-year-old bodybuilder was a veteran in his youth and finished in sixth place in Mr. Olympia.

Recently he re-shared some pictures on Instagram and it was a sweet blast from the past. The pictures not only showed his younger self but also the genetic potential that he already had since childhood. Fans were very impressed.

Lee Priest, when he was 12 and 18 years old, presented a carousel of his younger self. Even at that age, his genetics and hard work were responsible for his ripped and muscular physique.

These pictures were re-shared by him and originally posted by @withregram. Just like he was ripped at 12 years old he is still going strong at 50. The retired bodybuilder may have had amazing genetics but he also went through a lot of hardships.

Due to the side effects of consuming steroids and training muscle beast, his post-retirement was hard on him and he had to go through surgeries in 2017. However, he got back up again and still maintains his fitness to his day.

Take note kids, you can take all the gear in the world and outwork all your friends in the gym but you?ll never look like this. My advice to the younger generation is to put the drugs down and be happy with what you are genetically capable of building because comparing yourself to people like Lee isn?t healthy. This dude is on a different level.?
